File Types For MyCAT, PrivateCAT and Chatfile Use
PDF Is Best
We strongly recommend using PDF files and converting other file types to PDF whenever possible. PDF 'cleans' your files so the results are cleaner when using chat.
Important... Protected and Locked Files Do Not Work!!!
Many PDF files are protected. Protected files do not work. There are numerous cleaning tools available online to unlock PDF files. BizGPT does not own or vouch for these tools. It is your responsibility to understand if you have the right to unlock files.
How Do I Know If Files Fail?
You may notice the bot will not be able to find information in the files you upload even though you know the information is available. After files are uploaded and file training has commenced, if a file fails you will receive an email notifying you of this.
Allowable File Types For Your Catalogue
You can add the following file types to your catalogue and into a prompt. All files containing text can be converted into BizGPT data.
- PDF: Portable Document Format
- DOC: Microsoft Word Document
- DOCX: Microsoft Word Open XML Document
- TXT: Text File
- VTT: Video Text Track File
VTT files are commonly used for translating voice to text for videos, films etc. including time stamps where appropriate.

Future File Types
Our development team is working hard to expand the available file types. Files such as spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations are best converted to PDF to help clean them so our Bot can use them properly.
